A lot has been made of Aggies' coach Jimbo Fisher's decision to hire Bobby Petrino as his offensive coordinator. It won't work well on Saturday night. The running back room is a bit of a concern, and I expect the Aggies to use this as a trial-and-error game on the defensive side. This is too big of a spread.

These were two really bad offensive teams last year, especially the (Rebecca) Lobos. The spread here is 38 and the total 49 so you can do the math on how much oddsmakers expect UNM to score -- and it truly may not. While A&M should be better on that side of the ball with Bobby Petrino now calling plays, the Aggies likely will pull their offensive starters ASAP ahead of a trip to Miami next week. If this game was during the day, it might be dangerous with highs in the 100s on Saturday in Texas. Something like 38-3 sounds about right. I will probably stick to half-units on totals early in the year until we see if the clock rules have any effect.
