It looked like Oklahoma was going to find its second wind and close the season out strong after multiple embarrassing performances. After beating Kansas and Iowa State, the Sooners lost 38-35 at home to Baylor. They’re 1-5 ATS in their last six. West Virginia has lost its last three and failed to cover the last three, but its signature home win hasn’t happened yet, outside of beating Baylor. This might be it. I took the points with West Virginia.

Brent Venables’ reputation as a defensive maestro has taken a hit in his debut as head coach in Sooner land, but he won’t need much D here. Oklahoma should ring up an enormous total. Ditto West Virginia, for that matter. Four of the Sooners’ seven conference games have generated 75, 79, 82 and 73 points. The Mountaineers’ two previous home dates have produced 83 and 72. Earlier, WVU engaged in an 84-point game in regulation, with 13 more tacked on in overtime.
