Georgia State's 0-3 record is a bit misleading as it has played Power 5 schools South Carolina and North Carolina, but there's little excuse for last week's home loss to Charlotte. A defense that returned 10 of 11 starters from last year has been terrible in allowing 37.3 ppg and the special teams have been a disaster in the early going. Coastal Carolina is loaded offensively with QB Grayson McCall (who has been in Myrtle Beach for like eight years, I swear), RBs Reese White and CJ Beasley, and WR Sam Pinckney, a transfer from ... Georgia State. The road team has covered five straight in the series.

Two teams with opposite records will clash Thursday in the Sun Belt as Coastal Carolina travels to face Georgia State. Two of Georgia State’s losses are acceptable as it faced Power Five teams in North Carolina and South Carolina. The inexcusable loss was last weekend as 20-point favorites to Charlotte. Expect coach Shawn Elliott to have his team much more prepared against a familiar opponent in Sun Belt rival Coastal Carolina. They will cover as the home underdog and take down Grayson McCall and the Chanticleers.
