The Volunteer offense is as fast-paced and dangerous as any in the country, but I still have faith in a Panthers defensive line that runs eight- or nine-deep. That will be a big factor in a game in which depth up front will be challenged. On the other side of the equation, the Panthers will do all that they can to pound the rock on the ground to wear down a questionable Volunteers defense and, at the very least, keep Tennessee's offense on the sideline.

Pittsburgh won 41-34 last season at Tennessee, and I’m looking for a similar total this week with two high-flying teams that return a combined 32 starters from last season. Pitt beat West Virginia last week 38-31 despite spending most of its time trying to run (39 carries, 76 yards). But I felt the Panthers could do what they wanted passing the ball. They’ll have to pass much more this week. Tennessee won 59-10 against Ball State. Both Pitt and Tennessee were involved in 69-point totals last week. Over is the top play.
