This game features two potent offenses and two suspect defenses. SMU is more one-dimensional, relying heavily on a highly efficient passing game. Oklahoma transfer Tanner Mordecai already has 16 touchdown passes on the season. TCU will try to pound the ball, but the generous SMU pass defense may give QB Max Duggan more of a chance to show off his arm. TCU gave up 309 yards in the air and 32 points to Cal, the Frogs' only FBS opponent so far, while the SMU defense ranks in the bottom 25 nationally. Take the Over.

From 2012-18, TCU dominated this series and had four 30-point victories in that span before SMU won the last meeting in 2019 by a score of 41-38. SMU QB Tanner Mordecai has 16 passing TDs this season, and TCU showed that its secondary has some holes when it gave up 309 yards to a subpar Cal passing attack. SMU's biggest weakness is its secondary, but the Mustangs have been solid against the run, while TCU's biggest strength is its rushing attack.
