Alabama is the best team in the country. I have a difficult time imagining it won't win the national title. It's defense has gone to another level as of late, but it hasn't played a bunch of spectacular offenses. The last offense it faced with the same level of potency that Florida has put up nearly 700 yards and 48 points on it. Florida's defense won't stop the Tide nearly enough to win the game, but the Gators offense can hang within this number.
Sure, both of these offenses are explosive. But this line suggests that Bama’s defense is going to get lit up by Florida. That’s a stretch. The Crimson Tide won’t be threatened by the Florida ground game, will terrorize a sub-par offensive line and force quarterback Kyle Trask into a couple of mistakes. This feels more like a 42-17 kind of game.
Florida is coming off of an embarrassing loss to LSU, taking some of the luster off of this game and essentially tossing water on any hopes they had of crashing the CFB Playoffs. The biggest question will be whether the Gators' defense can keep Alabama from hitting 40-plus points on the scoreboard, something the Crimson Tide has done with ease this season. Look for an inspired effort by Florida, but Alabama will comfortably cover.
