QUICK LANE BOWL -- Eastern Michigan is one of the more confusing teams in the country. It's not particularly good at anything, yet it's usually in every game it plays, and picked up a huge road win against Illinois this season. Then there's Pitt, which is built around its defense and an offense that hasn't shown an indication of being good at anything. This spread is too large to entrust Pitt to cover, but I don't much like the Eagles, either. Instead, I'll go Under.

QUICK LANE BOWL -- Pitt's offense can beat you in a variety of ways. We've seen the Panthers have success through the air a lot this season. Where EMU struggles most is on defense. The Eagles have had their issues eliminating the big play throughout 2019. I like Pitt's ability to push the tempo and pace, especially against a sketchy defensive unit.

QUICK LANE BOWL -- Relative to expectations, the Eagles had a bit of a disappointing season. Coming off last year's seven-win campaign, they were pegged to take a step forward and perhaps contend for the MAC West title. Instead, they finished dead last in the division. But this erratic club does have road wins over Illinois and Northern Illinois to its credit. The Panthers stumbled down the stretch, with two ugly losses to end the regular season. But if they come ready to play here, a blowout should be in store.Betting against 6-6 MAC teams in bowls should prove a profitable approach.
