Central Florida looks to take down another SEC team Sunday at Missouri a few days after beating Alabama. UCF has covered its last five and six of seven this season. The Knights are still underrated. The Tigers have lost their last two and are 1-5 ATS this season. Coach Johnny Dawkins' UCF squad is loaded with talent and it gets the cover here.
What a shame for junior and three-year starting QB Makenzie Milton. Milton, out for the rest of the year with an MCL injury, lead the team in passing yards last week with 86 as Darriel Mack Jr. (a rFr.) threw for just 81 yards on 14 passes. There is a 8-point drop off without Milton! Memphis also has home revenge in a game they lost 31-30 when they led 30-17 at halftime. Last year Memphis lost by 27 at home and then in 2OT in the hampionship game at Central Florida.
These teams met earlier this season with UCF escaping with a 31-30 win in Memphis. How will things go this time without McKenzie Milton? It's hard to know for sure, but I would expect the Knights to try to take as much off Darriel Mack's plate as possible. That should mean more rushing attempts and trying to keep the Memphis offense off the field as much as possible. I don't expect the type of shootout many may expect here.
This game has a different feel to it because of the horrific and unfortunate injury to Knights QB McKenzie Milton. That changes everything in my opinion. We could see this team rally and play some inspired football as a result, or we could see an offense not pose the same threat as it did with Milton at the controls. You also have to remember that Memphis had the Knights beat last year, with what was, in my opinion, a much better Central Florida team. Look for RB Darrell Henderson to have a big day and lead the Tigers to victory.
