San Francisco had as poor of a stretch as any team in conference when they went 3-8 up until last Saturday’s win over Pacific. With yesterday’s win over Portland the Dons have their first two game win streak since January 4th. Look for the Dons to be motivated off their worst loss of the season when Oregon State beat them on their home floor, 90-63 on February 12th.
Oregon State won both regular-season meetings but the Beavers enter the WCC tournament with a lame-duck coach. The Dons exploded in the second half in Saturday’s win over Portland and should carry over that momentum. Junior forward David Fuchs has taken over the past two games, leading the Dons to victory with 52 points and 23 rebounds. The Dons didn’t have starting guard Tyrone Riley (11.9 ppg) in the most recent meeting with Oregon State, but he’s back and playing well with four straight games in double figures.
