As totals go this one doesn't look so daunting tonight at Millett Hall in Oxford. How could it, with host Miamii-O rolling at nearly 93 ppg, which is tops in the nation, and for good measure leading the country in shooting percentage as well (53.5%). The RedHawks are also "only" 4th in three-point accuracy at 40.2%. Almost everyone in Travis Steele's unbeaten lineup hits triples at 40% or better, and in only three MAC games this season has the scoreline not exceeded 153. The Falcons will try to keep pace but already lost far worse to Miami than an early 93-83 scoreline on December 30 at the Stroh Center would indicate, when the RedHawks could tap the accelerator as they wished. Miami Ohio continues to prove bettors fading them wrong, as they remain undefeated. Their last two wins and covers were strongly against the market against Ohio and UMass. Today the spread has corrected enough for me to find value on Bowling Green. They were not ready for Miami Ohio way back on December 30th, when they trailed 54 to 28. They made a game of it in the second half, and play better this time around to cover the number.

Miami Ohio took the first meeting of the season, on the road, scoring 93 points. The RedHawks are 7th in the country in points, 88.2 points per game, and at home they’re scoring 90.5. Bowling Green has an above average defense but it’s difficult to slow down this offense especially with how the RedHawks space the floor with their ball movement. In conference play, Miami Ohio has gone over 80 points, or more, in 11 of 13 conference games thus far.

The notion that a team could possibly go undefeated in the regular season and not make the NCAA Tournament is ludicrous to me. Sure, Miami's schedule is weak, but their fate shouldn't be determined on a fluky conference tournament if they lose even just one time in the regular season. They are 101 spots ahead of Bowling Green in the NET Rankings and already beat them by 10 earlier this season. I would be surprised if this wasn't another double-digit win for a team who is 17-6 ATS this season.
