As these teams usually didn't bother to slow the pace in pre-SWAC play, don't expect them to change now. As most loop entries, these sides took their lumps in non-conference payday games vs. many power conference foes, especially Reggie Theus and his BCU side that appeared as if it was taking off most possessions on the stop end. A quick 2-0 break in the SWAC has buoyed hopes in Daytona Beach, however, and the Heady brothers Jakobi and Quentin, who transferred in tandem from CMU, are both scoring in double digits for Theus. Bethune-Cookman was the SWAC preseason favorite and has looked the part so far with home wins over Florida A&M and Grambling. The Wildcats have never started 3-0 in SWAC play. They saw the season/team debut of transfer Doctor Bradley last time out, and he contributed immediately with seven points, five rebounds and four assists in 18 minutes. He was stellar last year at Arkansas Pine-Bluff and was the SWAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and a Preseason All-SWAC First Team selection for this season. Bradley had been ineligible but won a ruling. Because the NCAA never wins in court these days.
