If you've been following my other SportsLine picks you know all about my tournament final principle. Well, this is not a final, but the thought process for this game isn't all that different. Hofstra is playing its second game in two days after having three weeks off, while Elon is playing its third game in three days. Don't be surprised if this one is ugly.

Elon didn’t play Hofstra this season but has lost its last four in the series, the last three by 23 points or more. But Monday's CAA Semifinal should be different because Elon, picked to finish second in the CAA, has won and covered its last six. The last was a defeat of first-place James Madison on Sunday. Hofstra (9-12-1 ATS) beat Delaware on Sunday after closing its regular season out losing three of four. Take the points with the hotter team.
