Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Micah's Analysis:

The Ravens have stayed Under in three of their last four and lost their last three. They were sluggish offensively before the COVID-19 spikes and the situation isn’t likely to make them better all of a sudden. You can count on Cowboys QB Andy Dalton for only moderate production, and the Ravens' solid defense will be a big part of it. The Under is the top play.

Matt's Analysis:

I'm tempted to wait to see if this drops to Ravens -7, but nary a book has it there currently and it's thus not likely. Also hate to get burned again on long rest vs. short rest in an NFC East at AFC North primetime matchup (i.e. Washington at Pittsburgh on Monday), but the Cowboys appear to have quit on the season and lost two more starting offensive linemen, including Pro Bowler Zach Martin, to injury. The Ravens, meanwhile, are getting a gaggle of guys back from COVID/injury (see news feed), led by Lamar Jackson, and they HAVE to win this for their playoff hopes. They should be able to do so by at least 10.

Mike's Analysis:

At full strength, or even close to it, the Ravens are double-digit-points superior to fast-fading Dallas. But that is a big IF, in capital letters. Several of the 17 players who missed the loss at Pittsburgh, primarily while on the COVID-19 inactive list, are expected back. How many is uncertain, although reports indicate the key one - QB Lamar Jackson (coronavirus) - will suit up. The Cowboys have been afforded nearly two weeks of prep time since getting drilled by Washington on Thanksgiving, but their dreadful defense is a waiting cure for what ails Baltimore’s recently clunky offense.

Emory's Analysis:

Baltimore gave a valiant effort against the Steelers and will be closer to normal following a COVID outbreak. Defensively, the Cowboys still struggle to get off the field, and we've seen their offense not have the ability to find any level of continuity up front all season. The Ravens will jumpstart their playoff push with a convincing win against the Cowboys.
