Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Micah's Analysis:

The Warriors had seven players in double figures in Game 1 and shot 56.1 percent while outrebounding Dallas, 51-35. The Mavericks shot 36.0 percent from the field and had just 14 assists. Their Game 2 plan: Make more shots, and defend better. I expect Dallas to respond in Game 2, make this a much closer game and possibly win outright. I took the points with the Mavericks.

Matt's Analysis:

Up front: I'm playing this with Celtics moneyline for their game Saturday at home vs. Miami. I fully expect Dallas to play better tonight, although there's one report out there that Luka Doncic was up all night sick after Game 1 and still was feeling ill Thursday. Obviously, he'll play. I just don't see Dallas winning a game in San Francisco in this series barring a Golden State injury. The Dubs, who are on a nine-game home winning streak, seemed to frustrate Luka in Game 1 with Andrew Wiggins as the primary defender and the occasional zone/box-in-one. Steph Curry didn't even shoot well and it was still a rout.

Mike's Analysis:

The Warriors won Game 1 by 25 points despite Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole shooting a combined 5-for-17 from behind the arc. Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson had off nights for the Mavericks, shooting a combined 12-for-34 from the field. While I think Doncic and Brunson have better games, there’s also the potential that Curry, Thompson and Poole have more efficient shooting nights, too. With that in mind, I think the Warriors pull off another convincing victory.
