What happens to your ESPN Bet Sportsbook account on December 1? Pending bets, account info, theScore Bet login
ESPN Bet Sportsbook will cease operations on Dec. 1 and rebrand as theScore Bet. What does that mean for existing ESPN Bet users moving forward?

In an announcement on Thursday, ESPN and Penn Entertainment made it known that they have mutually agreed to terminate their US online sports betting operations effective Dec. 1. At that time, Penn will rebrand its online sports betting service to theScore Bet, a Penn Entertainment sportsbook that only exists in Ontario but previously operated in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa and New Jersey. With the rebrand, theScore Bet will return to the U.S. market by replacing ESPN Bet in the 19 jurisdictions it holds licenses in.
It's a lot of information to take in all at once, and one question still needs to be answered: What does that mean for existing ESPN Bet Sportsbook users?
ESPN Bet to close, rebrand as theScore Bet
In August 2023, Penn Entertainment agreed to a 10-year, $150 million deal to make ESPN its exclusive online sports betting partner in the US. The agreement included a provision that either party could terminate the agreement after the third year if certain market share performance thresholds were not met.
Jay Snowden, CEO and president of Penn Entertainment, said in a release that, while the ESPN Bet platform made significant progress in improving its product, it was not enough to avoid a mutual termination.
According to the announcement, ESPN Bet featured over 2.9 million users, all of which will see the sports betting brand come to a close on Dec. 1. Penn Entertainment will rebrand it as theScore Bet, which exited the US market in July 2022 to focus on Ontario. Now, the sportsbook will make its American return.
What does that mean for existing ESPN Bet users?
For existing ESPN Bet Sportsbook customers, the ESPN Bet brand will no longer exist. However, all bets will transfer to theScore Bet. Here's our exchange with customer support:

According to customer support at ESPN Bet Sportsbook, there is nothing existing users need to do before, during or after the transition. All account information, including settings and wallet, will move over to theScore Bet.Â
What makes the process even easier is users don't even need to download theScore Bet. Rather, the ESPN Bet app will become theScore Bet, which bettors can log into using their ESPN Bet credentials.
As for outstanding wagers, such as futures bets, those will still be live and taken over by theScore Bet.
