The action isn't just on the gridiron, either, with a loaded MLB slate and four WNBA contests, as those two leagues are nearing the conclusion of the regular season.

Bettors looking to place wagers on any of Saturday's top games may be interested in the DraftKings promo code, which gives new users who place a first bet of $5 or more both $300 in bonus bets and over $200 off NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube TV.

Best bets for Saturday, August 30

There haven't been many Week 1 matchups bigger than Texas at Ohio State. The Buckeyes are the defending champions and enter the year ranked third in the AP poll, while the Longhorns are the No. 1 squad. These teams faced off in January, with Ohio State beating Texas in the College Football semifinal round shortly before beating Notre Dame for the national championship. Each team has had to replace talent on both sides of the ball from their rosters last year, and both squads have new quarterbacks. Arch Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, enters his first full season as a starter, and he's the betting favorite to win the Heisman. As for the Buckeyes, they turn to former Alabama transfer Julian Sayin, who makes his first college start on Saturday. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every college football game 10,000 times, is leaning slightly toward the Buckeyes, as OSU wins in just over 50% of model simulations.

The other top game of the day on Saturday is a night clash between LSU and Clemson. Both enter the year ranked in the top 10, and each has national championship aspirations. Clemson made the CFP last year behind quarterback Cade Klubnik, who enters 2025 as one of the top players in the country. LSU is looking for a playoff berth for the first time under head coach Brian Kelly, and the Tigers return 4,000-yard passer Garrett Nussmeier. The SportsLine Projection Model likes LSU in this matchup, as the Tigers beat Clemson in 57% of simulations at plus money.

As for on the diamond, there are 15 games going on as teams are jockeying for playoff position. One of the top games is the Mariners visiting the Guardians in Cleveland, who took the series opener 5-4 on Friday. Seattle holds one of three wild card spots in the American League, while Cleveland has struggled of late and has some work to do over the last month of the season if it wants to make the postseason once again. Two former first-round picks square off on the hill with Logan Gilbert (4-5, 3.69 ERA) starting for the Mariners against Gavin Williams (8-5, 3.36 ERA). Gilbert allowed one run over six innings in his last start at home, but he has a 6.00 ERA in eight road starts this year. Williams has pitched fewer than four innings in two of his last three starts. The model is backing the Guardians at +1.5, as Cleveland covers in 61% of model simulations.
