Best bets for Sunday

NFC West rivals with perfect records face off as the 49ers host the Cardinals at 4:25 p.m. ET. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals got wins against the Saints and Panthers to start their season, but their 2-0 record could be in danger as they head into Week 3 with a banged-up defense. The 49ers are also dealing with injuries as quarterback Brock Purdy is set to miss his second straight game, although backup Mac Jones helped San Francisco pull out a Week 2 win. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, has the 49ers covering the spread in over 50% of simulations.

On Sunday Night Football, the Chiefs and Giants both battle for their first wins of the 2025 NFL season at 8:20 p.m. ET. The reigning AFC champions fell to the Chargers in Sao Paulo in Week 1 and came up short in the Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles 20-17. The Russell Wilson era in New York is off to a bumpy start as the Giants were embarrassed by the Commanders in Week 1 and then fell to the Cowboys in Week 2, 40-37, in overtime. The Giants have won five of the last seven head-to-head meetings, but the Chiefs are covering the spread in well over 50% of simulations by the SportsLine Projection Model.
