Best bets for Sunday, March 22

There are only five games on Sunday's NBA schedule, but at this time of the season, a lot of the matchups can be critical. The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks are both on strong runs, and both will be looking for victories Sunday to keep pace at the top of the Eastern Conference. The Detroit Pistons lead the East and have won three in a row, while the second-place Celtics have won four straight. The Knicks are third but on a five-game streak. The Knicks should have no problem adding to their run when they host the sliding Washington Wizards, as they are favored by 21.5 points. The SportsLine Projection Model has New York winning in 96% of its simulations and covering 67% of the time. Bet on the NBA at bet365 and claim your $365 in bonus bets for new users here:

Boston has a tougher matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are in the heart of the playoff race in the West. The Timberwolves will be without Anthony Edwards, as the NBA's third-leading scorer is dealing with knee inflammation and could miss a couple of weeks. They are 2-1 in his absence after losing to the Minnesota Trail Blazers 108-104 on Friday night. The Celtics are 24-10 at home, and Jaylen Brown comes in with 104 points over his past three games. He is averaging 28.5 per game, fifth in the NBA, and Jayson Tatum has averaged 19.6 points and 8.6 rebounds in seven games since his return from injury. The Timberwolves won the last matchup 119-115 on Nov. 29, but Edwards scored 39 points in that game. The Celtics are 10-point favorites, but the SportsLine model says the Timberwolves cover in 59% of simulations.
