Best bets for Wednesday, Jan. 21

The Oklahoma City Thunder have won six of their past seven games and still sit comfortably atop the Western Conference. Now they will wrap up a four-game road trip Wednesday in Milwaukee against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, who beat the Atlanta Hawks 112-110 on Monday for their second victory in their past six games. Reigning league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren combined for 58 points as OKC routed the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. The Bucks are 11th in the Eastern Conference but can still make a move for a playoff spot if they can get something rolling. Antetokounmpo has been the subject of lots of trade chatter but leads the team in scoring at 28.5 points per game and adds 9.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists. Gilgeous-Alexander averages 31.8 points and 6.2 assists, and Holngren blocks 2 shots per game for OKC. The Thunder are 9.5-point favorites in the Thunder vs. Bucks odds, and the SportsLine model has them covering the spread in 53% of its simulations. The model gives a 'B' grade to Over 226.5, which hits at a 65.9% rate.

In the NHL, the Toronto Maple Leafs can make up some ground in the Atlantic Division when they host the Detroit Red Wings at Scotiabank Arena. The Red Wings (30-16-4) are second in the division, just behind the Tampa Bay Lightning, while the Leafs (24-17-8) are sixth, eight points behind Detroit. Toronto is 16-6-5 at home and is 6-2-2 in its past 10 games overall, while the Red Wings are 7-2-1 over the same span. The Leafs are slight -118 favorites on the money line, with Detroit priced at -102. The SportsLine model has the Leafs winning 61% of the time, earning the money line pick a 'B' grade. In college basketball, top-ranked Arizona (18-0) tries to keep its perfect record intact when it hosts Cincinnati on Wednesday. The Wildcats are outscoring opponents by 21.3 points per game, fifth-best in the nation, while the Bearcats have a 7.8-point edge (101st). Arizona is a 14.5-point favorite, and the Over/Under for total points is set at 153.5. The SportsLine model has Cincinnati covering 52% of the time and the Under hitting 62.8% of the time.
