The nine-game NBA schedule for Wednesday features two of the top four teams in the Western Conference as the San Antonio Spurs visit the Houston Rockets at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Spurs (31-15) are second in the West and lead the Southwest Division, two games ahead of Houston (28-16), which is second in the division and fourth in the conference. These are both well-rounded teams that can score points and play defense. Both teams are above average in scoring, with the Spurs ranking 11th in points per game (117.3) and the Rockets 12th (116.7), and they are top-10 defensive teams. Houston allows 110.5 per game (fourth) and San Antonio yields 112.6 (seventh). The Spurs are trying to get right after losing two of their past three, including a 104-95 setback to the Pelicans on Sunday. Houston has won five of its past six, with the only loss coming in overtime to the 76ers, and is 16-3 at home. The Rockets are 2.5-point home favorites, and the SportsLine Projection Model has them covering the spread in 70% of simulations and winning outright 73% of the time as -149 money-line favorites. The money-line play earns an 'A' grade.

Only Providence scores more points in the Big East than these two teams, with St. John's averaging 85.1 points per game and the Bulldogs scoring 83.6.
