Maybe the Winter Olympic break refreshed the Blues, who have shown a bit of life since, winning two of three, with both of those successes coming when Joel Hofer has been in goal. Hofer is slated to start again tonight in Seattle after beating the Kraken 5-1 last Thursday night at Enterprise Center as he stopped 23 of 24 shots before back at work on Sunday at Minnesota, stopping 22 of 23 shots in a 3-1 win. The Kraken have won twice at Climate Pledge since that loss in St Louis last Thursday behing Joey Daccord in goal, though Lane Lambert goes back to Philip Grubauer tonight, who took the loss last week vs. the Blues. Play Blues on Money Line
Feels a bit of a generous opening number on Wednesday for Seattle (-165 perhaps?), which cashed for us Monday in beating Carolina. The Kraken are just a different club at home (won five straight there) and right in the thick of the West WC race. The Blues have no postseason shot and will be trading guys by Friday. Likely Wednesday goalie Jordan Binnington played well in the Olympics but has lost eight straight in the NHL spanning the break with a 4.19 GAA. It should be his turn unless traded, although his value is so low right now I doubt that. Good payback spot for the Kraken for a 5-1 loss in St. Louis on Feb. 26; Joel Hofer in net for the Blues.
