No surprise if the Stars have been pointing for this one ever since getting humbled in the West finals by the Oilers last spring, costing HC Pete DeBoer his job. Jake Oettinger, in particular, should be extra-focused in goal after getting pulled in the final game of that series. Oettinger enters Rogers Place having won in four of his last five starts, stopping 100 of 108 shots across the past four games (.926 saves...not bad!). Edmonton returns home after a long road trip that ended on a positive note with a 6-3 win at Florida, but the Oilers had lost three straight and four of five on that extended swing before Saturday's win at Sunrise. There are three reasons I will play this. First, it's the only game Tuesday. Second, the Stars will be without superstar and co-leading scorer Mikko Rantanen due to one-game suspension and they still have some other guys out injured. Third, perhaps the disappointing Oilers got that season-changing win Saturday at Florida in a Stanley Cup Finals rematch (x2). Edmonton has been miles better at home -- where it plays for the first time since Nov. 10. Note that it's also the front of a B2B for Dallas; it will be the only team in the NHL in the second half on Wednesday when 30 of the league's 32 teams are in action.
