The Rangers might be better advised to play all games on the road after their MSG mark sagged to 0-5-1 (and blanked four times!) in a 3-0 loss to the Canes on Tuesday. On the road, however, NY has done things like win three straight at the end of a recent Western Conference swing, and work in goal remains good; if it's Igor Shesterkin tonight, as expected, his GAA is at 2.26, while Jonathan Quick has a 1.35 GAA in three starts. Goaltending hasn't been the Rangers' problem. We'll see about the Red Wings, back home at Little Caesars from a Western swing when goals dried up in the last three games, scoring just five in the last three games. Play Rangers on Money Line
I believe the wrong team is favored in this Original Six matchup, so I'll take the OT insurance gift even at this price. I expect the Red Wings to win but won't turn this down as it almost surely flips soon. Patrick Kane is back for the Wings, who play just their second home game since Oct. 20 and are 5-1 on home ice. It's a big hockey weekend in Motown with the Hockeytown Centennial FanFest. Detroit is also well-rested and duly motivated having lost six straight in the series. The Rangers haven't won at home yet and are 6-1-1 away, which is bonkers. But it's the front end of a B2B for them with a rivalry game tomorrow vs. the Islanders back at home.
