I tend to think the Oilers may need to score 5 tonight to win because Stuart Skinner has to start in net again. Do I trust him much? Nope. So that's why I will play a half unit on this great price instead of ML or even Vegas +1 at -175. Maybe Skinner finds his 2024 playoff form, and he wasn't too bad in the regular season. Or maybe the Oilers win 6-4 on an empty-netter. If we push, we push, but Knights netminder Adin Hill hasn't been all that great in the series himself.
A surprise concern for the Oilers is the status of GK Cal Pickard (who would have guessed?), out again tonight due to a leg injury suffered late in Game 2. Edmonton is 6-0 in these playoffs with Pickard, but instead must opt again for Stuart Skinner, as in Game 3, when he allowed Reilly Smith the winner with just 0.4 seconds to play. In three appearances in these playoffs, Skinner has a subpar marks of 5.36 GAA and .817 saves. Fortunately for the Oilers, they have enough offense to trade goals, especially as vet Corey Perry (two goals in Game 3) is stepping in to help Connor McDavid and friends as Edmonton looks as if it can solve Adin Hill.
