The wisdom of going against the Kings at home (where they're 28-4-4 this term) can be questioned, but LA did recently lose one at Crypto.com to the Leafs. There are other factors at play, especially the crucial nature of this result for Edmonton, which pulls level with the Kings in the Pacific with a win; a loss, and LA has a clear path to the No. 2 Pacific slot and home-ice edge vs. the Oilers in their expected first-round matchup. Yet even minus Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, and Stu Skinner, Edmonton has dug in to win three straight. So why grab this Saturday game now? I believe it will end up north of -200 when everyone realizes how shorthanded Edmonton is expected to be with Leon Draisaitl reaggravating his injury and Connor McDavid still apparently out (and a few others). Really, really feels like a punt game against the NHL's best home team. As long as the Kings don't take a collective field trip to Tijuana or something of the sort late tonight, I feel pretty good about this.
