We get it, no one expects the Blackhawks to win on back-to-back nights to start the season...on the road, no less. But here we are after that uplifting opening night in Pittsburgh, when top draft pick Connor Bedard picked up an assist in his NHL debut as the Hawks stormed back with three goals in the final ten minutes to pull clear. Luke Richardson will also be alternating goalies after Petr Mrazek got the win last night, going with Arvid Soderblom tonight. If Chicago is indeed better than expected, the Puck Line becomes that much more attractive, especially as we're not sure what we'll get from the Bruins, who lost a lot (Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci topping the list) in the offseason.
I haven't decided if I will play the Blackhawks in Connor Bedard's NHL debut on Tuesday in Pittsburgh but man the schedule-makers throw the Hawks right to the wolves with a second game in 24 hours and against the league's best team from last regular season in Boston on Wednesday. Chicago already has announced that Arvid Soderblom will start in net Wednesday, and he was 2-10-2 last season with a 3.45 GAA and an .894 save percentage. This should be a rout unless Bedard truly is Wayne Gretzky already.
