Super Bowl 55 exacta odds: Chiefs over Packers is favored result, would return $500 on $100 bet

No team has reached the Super Bowl without a first-round bye since the Baltimore Ravens following the 2012 season. With the additional Wild-Card teams added this season, only the top seed in the AFC and NFC get a first-round bye. Those went to the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers. To no surprise, then, the favored Super Bowl 55 exacta result at William Hill Sportsbook is Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs beating Aaron Rodgers and the Packers at +500.

Needless to say, neither the Chiefs nor Packers will have to leave their respective cities until potentially Super Bowl 55 in Tampa, scheduled for Feb. 7. The Ravens were the AFC's top seed last season and lost in the Divisional Round to Tennessee. San Francisco was the NFC's top seed and reached the Super Bowl, blowing a fourth-quarter lead and losing to the Chiefs.

As an aside, the 49ers had the longest odds at William Hill before the season to miss the playoffs of the eliminated teams at +280. Coach Kyle Shanahan's team was absolutely decimated by injuries. NFC East champion Washington had the longest odds before the season to make the playoffs of the teams in the postseason at +650.

The Chiefs and Packers last met Week 8 last season in Kansas City and Green Bay won 31-24 behind 305 yards passing and three scores from Rodgers. However, Mahomes missed that game injured and journeyman Matt Moore started (and played pretty well). Thus, Rodgers and Mahomes have never faced off in a game that counted.

Green Bay beating Kansas City is the +1000 third-favorite on the Super Bowl 55 exacta along with Kansas City beating Seattle. The Chiefs over New Orleans is the +750 second-favorite. Those clubs played Week 15 in the Big Easy and Kansas City won 32-29.

The long-shot exactas, all priced at +125000, are Washington over Cleveland, Washington over Indianapolis, the Browns over Washington, and the Colts over Washington.
