NFL Week 15 COVID changes: Raiders-Browns postponed from Saturday to Monday; Sunday's Washington-Eagles, Seahawks-Rams games to be played Tuesday

The NBA and NHL have postponed multiple games this week due to COVID, but the NFL was standing strong that all Week 15 games would be played as scheduled. However, more and more players were landing on the COVID/reserve list, and the league finally relented to the pressure. Saturday's Raiders-Browns game will be played Monday at 5 p.m. ET (on the NFL Network) as part of a doubleheader with Vikings-Bears, and Sunday's Washington-Eagles and Seahawks-Rams matchups reportedly will be played Tuesday.

Raiders-Browns has been officially moved as of this writing because obviously there was a bit more urgency on that as the Raiders players were literally about to board buses to get to the airport and fly to Cleveland. The two Sunday games being moved isn't 100 percent yet but both Washington and Los Angeles have been wiped out by COVID this week like Cleveland. Update: Seahawks-Rams and Washington-Eagles both confirmed for 7 p.m. ET Tuesday and shown on FOX. 

If the postponed games had been cancelled, players would not have gotten paid for the week. The NFLPA obviously didn't want that. Yes, the Raiders, Seahawks and Eagles somewhat get the short end of the stick here. 

What does this mean for bettors who already had a wager down on these games? Via a Caesars Sportsbook spokesperson: "For us, if the game is played within 7 days of originally scheduled date, bets are still action. … That's mostly commonplace throughout industry, but some differences from book to book."

While the Browns catch a break in that they could get back some players Monday, now they are on a very short week in Week 16 as they play Christmas in Green Bay.

For what it's worth, when the NFL had games on Tuesday and Wednesday last year due to postponement, those did incredible betting action and equally well via TV ratings.
