Malik Willis 2022 NFL Draft odds: Seahawks, Saints, Titans favored to pick Liberty quarterback in Round 2

Rounds 2-3 of the NFL Draft are tonight from Las Vegas. Who will draft Malik Willis?

Liberty dual-threat quarterback Malik Willis is considered to have the highest ceiling of any signal-caller in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he's raw and will need a redshirt year to learn. Willis was given an Over/Under draft position of 13.5 in Thursday's Round 1 and was the -190 favorite to be the first quarterback off the board … but wasn't drafted. Willis figures to go early in tonight's Round 2 with the Seahawks, Saints and Titans the early betting favorites at DraftKings.

The only quarterback chosen Thursday was the University of Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett by the Steelers at No. 20 overall in a pretty cool moment. Pickett has a higher "floor" than Willis and is considered ready to start immediately at nearly age 24 – very old for a rookie quarterback. It was just the second time in the last 20 years there was only one quarterback taken in the first round.

Some mock drafts had Willis going as high as No. 2 in Round 1 to Detroit or perhaps No. 6 to Carolina. NFL.com gives Willis a grade of 6.41, which equates to: "will become good starter within two years" with a comp to Jay Cutler (arm) and Jalen Hurts (build/play style).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the first pick of Round 2 thanks to a Thursday trade with the Jaguars. The Bucs could use an eventual Tom Brady replacement, but they took Florida QB Kyle Trask in Round 2 last year and are trying to win a Super Bowl now so Willis seems like a long shot. Tampa is +5000 to be the team to draft Willis.

Picking at the top of Round 2 is incredibly valuable because other teams have all night to scour the boards and make offers. It would not be surprising at all to see Willis go 33rd. Seattle definitely needs a quarterback and is the +300 favorite to land him – the Seahawks have two second-round picks (40 and 41) as potential trade capital.

New Orleans (+400) has Jameis Winston, but he could serve as a bridge to Winston. The Saints' first pick on Friday is No. 49 overall so they would clearly have to move up. Tennessee (+500) could get out of Ryan Tannehill's contract after this season and picks 35th. Willis could be available then.

Detroit (+600) passed on Willis twice in Round 1 and would have picked 34th tonight but gave up that pick in a trade with Minnesota (+2000) to move up Thursday and pick Alabama receiver Jameson Williams. The Lions' first pick tonight is 46th.

The first pick for Atlanta (+600) is 43rd and the first for the New York Giants (+700) is 36th – the Giants already declined the fifth-year option on current QB Daniel Jones.

For what it's worth, three playoff starting quarterbacks in 2021 were second-round picks: the Eagles' Jalen Hurts, the Raiders' Derek Carr and the 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo.

DraftKings favorites to select Malik Willis

    • Seahawks +300
    • Saints +400
    • Titans +500
    • Lions +600
    • Falcons +600
    • Giants +700
    • Commanders +1000
    • Texans +1500
    • Colts +1500
    • Vikings +2000
