Fantasy Football 2024: Rookie QB rankings for redraft and dynasty feature two potential 2024 difference-makers
Fantasy and NFL expert R.J. White breaks down the rookie QB class for 2024
In 2023, Jake Haener was the sixth quarterback drafted with the 127th overall pick. The year prior, Sam Howell was the sixth quarterback drafted with the 144th overall pick. The year before that was one of the most QB-heavy in recent history in the first half of the first round with five quarterbacks going in the top 15 and the sixth being drafted 64th overall.
But 2024 was even more QB-focused, with six quarterbacks drafted in the first 12 picks: Caleb Williams to the Bears at No. 1 overall, Jayden Daniels to the Commanders at No. 2, Drake Maye to the Patriots at No. 3, Michael Penix Jr. to the Falcons at No. 8, J.J. McCarthy to the Vikings at No. 9 and Bo Nix to the Broncos at No. 12. That 2021 class turned out to be more bust than boom with No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence the only first-rounder of the five to remain on his original team, but will 2024 be different?
Does Daniels' profile make him the top rookie to target over the higher floor of Williams? Are any of the second tier of QBs drafted worth putting over Maye at No. 3? And does the list of relevant QBs for Dynasty leagues stop at six or can any later-round QBs emerge to be Fantasy relevant a la Brock Purdy? We break all that down in our look at the 2024 Fantasy football QB rookie class.
