Grizzlies vs. Warriors Monday NBA injury report, Game 4 spread, odds: Golden State double-digit favorite with Ja Morant likely out

The Memphis Grizzlies are not expected to have All-Star Ja Morant on Monday vs. Golden State.

The Memphis Grizzlies were a shocking 20-5 during the regular season without star guard Ja Morant, but it's sure tough to see the Grizz having much of chance in beating Golden State on its own floor without Morant on Monday in Game 4 of their Western Conference playoff series. Morant is not likely to play with a knee injury and the spread on the game has ballooned to Dubs -10.5 at Caesars Sportsbook.

Warriors guard Jordan Poole grabbed Morant's knee without about six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of Golden State's 142-112 Game 3 win and Morant limped off – why was he even in the game at that point? Morant tweeted that Poole "broke the code," but Poole is not facing a suspension. It certainly didn't look intentional.

"It was a basketball play when we doubled him," Poole said. "And I hit the ball, and I was going for the ball. I mean, obviously, you don't want to see anybody get hurt. I'm not even that type of player. I respect everybody."

Morant finished with 34 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals in 36 minutes. The Grizzlies did beat the Warriors 123-95 without Morant at home in March, but the Dubs didn't have Stephen Curry, Draymond Green or Klay Thompson in that game. Tyus Jones should start for Morant. Jones led the NBA by a mile with a league-record 7.02 assist-to-turnover ratio during the regular season, his fourth straight year leading in that category. The only other player in NBA history to lead the league in the category in four straight seasons is Chris Paul.

The Grizzlies will get back Dillon Brooks for Game 4. He was suspended for Game 3 after injuring Golden State's Gary Payton II on a flagrant 2 foul in Game 2. Payton may not be back until the NBA Finals should the team get there. Forward Andre Iguodala hasn't played in the series due to a back injury and won't Monday.

Frankly, the Warriors would have beaten any team in the NBA maybe ever in Game 3 as they shot 63.1 percent from the field and had a 76.1 true shooting percentage -- the second-best in both categories in NBA postseason history. The 142 points were the second most in franchise history for a playoff game. Dating to the regular season, Golden State has won six straight at home.

Up 2-1, the Warriors are now -800 on the series line with Memphis at +600.
