The Minnesota Timberwolves appeared to be going the right direction after they boosted their record to 17-14. Yet they have reversed course again losing three straight games, including Saturday against a Pistons team that was in a back to back spot. The T-wolves have veered off course and need a re-set ASAP. Poor shot selection has hurt; Ant Edwards did score 53 on Saturday vs. the Pistons but Minnesota lost again (third straight), and the offense has been out of sorts with Edwards shooting too many 3s, and Chris Finch wondering if Rudy Gobert even fits in personnel combinations that seem to demand more small-ball. Minnesota's best successes this season came with a defense-first philosophy which served the Wolves well for stretches earlier in the season; two of those efforts were vs. the Clippers in a five-day span (Nov. 29 & Dec. 4) when Minnesota won both and neither total exceeded 188.
