J.B. Bickerstaff might have found a formula that can work for his Pistons, who have played at a more deliberate pace this week in combative efforts vs. the Heat and Sixers (with an outright win in Philly). Adding shooters like Tim Hardaway, Jr, Malik Beasley, and Tobias Harris and adjusting the offense to get looks for all of them, at a slightly reduced tempo, could be working. Meanwhile the Knicks are fitting some newer pieces into their puzzle, too, with Karl-Anthony Towns just erupting for 44 in a win over the Heat. Towns, however, nurses a sprained left wrist, which could either keep him out or perhaps compromise him tonight. Note only uptempo Boston and Indiana have pushed Detroit scorelines past 218.5. This Pistons team plays tough under new head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. They began the season with a brutal schedule against the Pacers, Cavaliers, Celtics and Heat. They lost all four of those games, but two of the losses came by six or fewer points. They then beat the 76ers on the road Wednesday. The Pistons are 0-2 at home with both losses coming by exactly six points. The Knicks don’t have great depth and Karl-Anthony Towns is battling a sprained left wrist. The Pistons can keep this close.
