DraftKings. Despite being blanked last night, IтАЩm going to back the Mariners to pull out the win in a rematch against the Tigers. And specifically, I expect it to be on the heels of yet another dominant home outing from Bryan Woo. The righty has a 2.20 ERA and .207 wOBA at home, while picking up the win in six of nine starts (16/23 dating back to last season). The Tigers had the luxury of Troy Melton pitching yesterday, but today is a bullpen day. Expect the Mariners bats to bounce back.
Cards-Yanks might get rained out so will add this one. Bullpen game for Detroit, and kudos to the Tigers for basically flipping the bird to the front office with those trades and having won four in a row. But at some point, reality will hit. The front office gave up. Seattle's bullpen is fully ready behind my dawg Bryan Woo, who is just utterly different at home (6-0, 2.20 ERA). He's what I imagine the Willy Wonka softball team is when leaving the Chocolate Factory. I mean all the batters are 4-foot tall. But inside the factory? Generous strike zone, river of chocolate and "Oompa loompa doompety doo."
I rarely take home teams on the run line but this one is too juicy. Bryan Woo has the most dramatic home / road splits of any pitcher in baseball. At home, he's 6-0 with a 2.20 ERA. On the road, Woo is 1-8 with a 6.71 ERA. The Mariners have won 6 of his 8 home starts by multiple runs. Against a Tigers team that is packing it in for the year, look for the Mariners to win by at least two runs on Wednesday night.
Valencia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
