A pleasant surprise for the Houston Astros has been Braden Shewmaker. He is hitting .419 in the month of May, and comes into today’s matchup with a nine game hitting streak. In fact he has went under his combination prop just twice out of eleven starts on the season. I believe he keeps that going, as Degrom has had his issues against the Astros including the last two outings he saw them last September. Take Shewmaker’s total bases/combination line over.

Most of the season stats for the Houston Astros have been a head scratcher, as they are just 18-28 on the year. The one player that still has over rode his team issues has been Yordan Alvarez. He has fourteen home runs on the season, and is hitting .321. Today he gets to see veteran Jacob Degrom who he is 2 for 3 with a home run against in his career. Degrom also has just two walks over his last four starts, so we know Alvarez should avoid walks today. Take his combination line over.
