The Marlins have been hammering right-handed pitching, and I like them to at least be tied through five innings versus Tigers starter Keider Montero. Detroit has lost five straight and nine of 11. The Tigers also just lost CF Parker Meadows to a concussion. Back the Marlins in the first five.

The Marlins are decent, but I believe that 8-5 record is built on a soft schedule and mostly at home. The one roadie, the Fish lost two of three. I can give you stats, but I'm more of a "feel" guy. That sounds creepy but you get it. Almost an urgency spot already for Detroit on five-game skid but starting a homestand. Not a huge fan of starting pitcher Keider Montero but less one of Miami's Chris Paddack. I don't normally quote weather on a side play, but it'll be cold in Motown and as someone who used to live up North, cold just don't feel good anymore coming from Florida. I am currently wearing multiple sweatshirts as the missus likes the AC at 72.

The Tigers return home after getting swept by the Twins. They've managed over three runs once during this current five-game skid. Miami has won two in a row, outscoring the Reds 8-1 and 7-4. Miami’s offense has scored at least four runs in all but one game since Opening Day. Its OPS vs. right-handers sits at .861, so it should have a shot against Keider Montero. Marlins RHP Chris Paddack may have a quick hook, but that’s OK with the way the Marlins’ bullpen has been going (2.84 ERA).
