We didn't have explosive games at Wrigley Field for Games 3 & 4, though the offenses were more productive in the first two games of this series in Milwaukee. This also looks a bullpen game for both sides, as Craig Counsell sends Drew Pomeranz (used solely as a reliever this season) to the hill for the Cubs, and Pat Murphy still debates on his starter. For the latter, likely an opener, after the Brewers were thinking Freddy Peralta could nail down the series on Thursday night. The Brew Crew in particular is confident in its contact hitters, though the Cubs have shown capable of the long ball. Don't expect a Tigers-Mariners rep-lay of their Game 5 last night in Seattle. Play Cubs-Brewers Over
Obviously I am playing the Cubs something in a winner-take-all. Hey, sometimes life trumps money. My lean sadly is a one-run loss, but they got past the Brewers' ace in Game 4 so you just never know. Michigan-USC on the other screen tomorrow night (Trojans lean). That I only have two screens is very rookie. I've basically hedged this having played Brewers ML as well but I decided I can't not play Cubs something. And I fully expect a one-run game like Tigers-Mariners. Ideally not 15 innings though.
I don't know at what age I started prioritizing money over fandom ... maybe today years old. I'll so happily be wrong here and frankly (don't call me Shirley) would pay a fair amount out of pocket just to see the Cubs in the NLCS again, but I don't see them winning in Milwaukee. Maybe if they had Cade Horton available to start, but without question the Brewers have the better bullpen, and that's probably where Saturday's game is won or lost. I win either way: "Goin to Sizzler" (that still exist? Ponderosa?) or more Cubs baseball.
