Still picking up my teeth from that Phillies loss last night yikes. I swear no good team burns me more in late innings than Philly. Thought they solved this problem with Jhoan Duran, who had been great since the trade. Turned what should have been another profitable MLB night into basically a wash. Ah well. Real happy to have the -1 option here behind Seattle's George Kirby as I tend to think we at worst push barring another late collapse. GK was hammered last time out but had four straight quality starts prior and has significantly better home splits. Kirby hasn't seen the Athletics in 2025 but has good career numbers against them (5-0). Counterpart Jeffrey Springs has a 6.43 ERA in three August starts.
