You know what? I'm gonna play a fair amount today. Just one of those days where things seem to look good and summer is almost over. I personally reset my betting self once football starts (and then again NBA/NHL). I am prepared to be metaphorically Ned Stark-ed by the end of today but truly feel I'm due a break. And by break, I simply mean a team leading by 3 runs, you know, actually wins. This is an awfully cheap price on Detroit at home, that's for sure. Yusei Kikuchi has been good for the Halos, but the Tigers crush lefties ... and Kikuchi's road splits are a bit startling (0-5, 4.27 ERA).
Charlie Morton is looking like he could be be a very worthwhile trade deadline add for the Tigers after he spun six innings of one-run, four-hit ball at the potent Phillies last Sunday at CBP. Save one bad effort vs. the Rays on July 18 (when still with the Orioles), Morton's work the past two months has been superb, his teams winning in 9 of his last 12 starts, and only twice allowing more than three runs since mid-April. Meanwhile we wonder if the Angels are close to waving the white flag after Reid Detmers blew a late lead last night at Comerica, and Yusei Kikuchi (4.88 ERA in July) has been very up and down on the mound lately Play Tigers on Run Line
