The Yankees and Blue Jays slugged it out in the last two games, with both going over, and today's a perfect situation for the game to go over with Chris Bassitt pitching, who has gone over six of his last seven starts, with a lot of the overs being his fault. Clarke Schmidt has stayed under in his last three games and allowed only four runs in his last four starts, but the Blue Jay bets are hot right now, hitting .270 in the last 30 games. The Blue Jays are tied for first in the AL East as a result of the last two days and have won four games in a row. I like the Blue Jays, but I like the over more.

Chris Bassitt projects to complete over 17 outs here so betting this at 16.5 before the move to 17.5 is enticing. Bassitt had a complete clunker last time out but that was on the road at Boston, and he gets back home here, where he possesses 2.60 ERA in nine starts so far this year. Because of the blow up last time out, he threw a season low 70 pitches and the Jays got less than five full innings from Jose Berrios yesterday. Since the Jays continue to win and don't have an off day until the 10th, I would not be surprised to see Bassitt receive a bit more leash here out of necessity. Speculative play as many outs bets are, so use caution.

After last night's wild win over the Yankees, the Blue Jays could use some length from Chris Bassitt as the bullpen is quite taxed and obviously no off day Friday. So Bassitt might have to take one for the team, in essence, tonight even if he's getting hit a little. The righty had gone at least six innings in four straight before getting shelled last time out in Boston. But he's 5-0 with a 2.60 ERA at home. In his lone start against New York this season, Bassitt went 5.2 innings at Yankee Stadium. And that's all we want here.
