Dominant Zack Wheeler at home against the Padres, who are generally overrated as an offensive team (23rd in the majors in OPS) is a good start. The Padres send Matt Waldron to the mound and he's returning from a less-than-stellar stint in the minors on his rehab stint (5.24 ERA, 1.52 WHIP).
It's been a while since we've seen Matt Waldron on the mound, as he returns to active duty on the mound tonight for the Padres in his first action of the season. Though Mike Shildt could have perhaps picked a better spot for Waldron than against Zack Wheeler, as the Phils have won in eight of Wheeler's last ten starts. With the exception of one very bumpy effort vs. the Braves on May 29, Wheeler has been almost untouchable for the past two months, with an 0.78 ERA in four June starts, and if throwing out that one bad start vs. Atlanta, an 0.73 ERA in his other eight starts since the beginning of May.
