Can Jacob Lopez keep it going? The A's starter has been a revelation on the mound in recent starts, though we didn't see much evidence of this beforehand, and his ERA is still 3.56 this season despite allowing just one run and ten hits across 19 IP in his last three starts. Still, at some point, Mark Kotsay will go to his bullpen, which has been risky for much of this season, and there's also the matter of Tampa Bay starter Drew Rasmussen, who has been consistent all season with his 2.45 ERA, and the Rays have won seven of his last eight starts. This will be the seventh straight road game in the East time zone for the Athletics with no days off. Guys are probably dragging. Tampa Bay is back home off a six-game trip. Drew Rasmussen has a 2.16 ERA at the team's temporary park, and the Rays' bullpen has essentially everyone ready. A's starter Jacob Lopez is a former Tampa Bay guy (2023-24), so the Rays hitters should have a great scouting report on him at least.
