It seems back to the dark days of 2023 for the A's, whose season has unraveled the past three weeks. Sitting above .500 at 22-20 not long ago, losses in 16 of 17 have buried them at the bottom of the AL West. Blame pitching for most of the problems, as in the past three weeks, A's hurlers have allowed double-digit runs an astounding eight (eight!!) times, including both of the last two starts made by JP Sears. Understandably, A's overs are hitting consistently (9-2 the last 11), though the Blue Jays might have to take care of this surprisingly low total (8) by themselves, as Kevin Gausman has allowed just one run across 15 IP in his last two starts.
