The St. Louis Cardinals Miles Mikolas has turned around his season after a disastrous Sunday night outing on April 6th. Seven straight starts he has allowed three runs or less, and the Cardinals have won each of his last four outings. Yet, a season ago Zac Gallen got the best of Mikolas and the Cardinals to the tune of a 5-0 victory. It’s the only matchup over Mikolas last 43 starts that he did not receive any run support. Play the Dbacks here on the road.
We're a bit surprised by this price tonight at Busch Stadium, as apparently there are still a few non-believers in the Cardinals. True, the Redbirds were cooled a bit by the MLB-best Tigers, losing 2 of 3 earlier this week, but the uptick has still been extended (still 13-4 across the past 17 games). Vet Miles Mikolas has certainly stabilized in the rotation, as St Louis has won in his last four starts, while he's posted a 2.20 ERA thus far in May along with an 0.98 WHIP. Meanwhile, D-backs starter Zac Gallen has had a bumpy go of it lately, allowing 10 runs and 18 hits across 10 1/3 IP in back-to-back Arizona losses vs. the Dodgers and Rockies.
