Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Bruce's Analysis:

Here's a pretty good price to be giving a team on an 8-game win streak! So it goes tonight for the Cards in Philly after the Redbirds swept out the Nats in D.C. on the weekend to extend their current MLB-best hot streak. Monday starter Matthew Liberatore is doing his part lately, with a 1.88 ERA across his last five starts, while at the moment Oliver Marmol has faith in his bullpen. Phillies starter Christopher Sanchez did already beat the Cards at Busch Stadium on April 12, but note Liberatore came right back the next night to fire six shutout innings at the Phils and pick up the win in a 7-0 St. Louis success. Play Cards on Money Line.

Micah's Analysis:

We've got a nice battle between two second-place teams with the Cardinals riding an eight-game win streak at the Phillies, who send Christopher Sanchez to the mound. Sanchez beat the Cardinals in St. Louis 4-1 on April 12th. This series has been an intense, playoff-like show, with the last nine games staying under. This is a good pitching matchup between Sanchez and Matthew Liberatore. The Phillies have won six of seven starts by Sanchez, and Liberatore has allowed only six earned runs in his last five starts and beat the Phillies on April 13th, 7-0. Under is the play.
