Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Matt's Analysis:

San Diego's offense woke up immediately when former three-time batting champion Luis Arraez was activated off the seven-day concussion IL ahead of Tuesday's win to end a four-game slide. I see no reason why the Dads won't hit well again today against Giants rookie Landen Roupp (4.56 ERA). He has allowed at least three runs in three of five outings. It's San Diego's best starting pitcher so far in 2025 in Michael King, who has a 1.25 ERA at Petco Park.

Bruce's Analysis:

Knocked off their pins by the Rays on the weekend as Joe Frazier was in Round 2 vs. Oscar Bonavena in 1966, the Padres recovered vs. the Giants last night and look to make it two in a row tonight. Michael King has flashed his much-discussed Cy Young potential in recent outings, allowing a combined two runs across his last three starts (though betrayed by poor run support the last two). Meanwhile the Giants have to be a bit concerned about recent starts made by Landon Roupp, hit hard in two of his last three efforts, with a 4.86 ERA that span, and this afternoon facing a San Diego offense that awakened with seven runs and eleven hits last night.
