A little perplexed why the Snakes are home dogs. Baltimore used its three highest-leverage relievers in Monday's win. Doesn't mean they aren't available tonight, but Arizona's bullpen certainly is in better shape. And I'd much rather have Merrill Kelly as my starting pitcher than ancient Charlie Morton (0-2, 9.72 ERA) at this point. A fair amount of Arizona batters have good splits off Morton. I believe the Snakes win but will never turn down +1.5 in that scenario.

Is 41-year-old Charlie Morton up to holding his spot in the Birds' rotation? I'm not sure after two starts posting a 9.62 ERA and 1.92 WHIP in absorbing a couple of heavy defeats. More problems could await vs. Arizona's bats tonight, though the D-backs are asking some of the same things about Merrill Kelly after he was strafed by the Yanks last Thursday, allowing 3 homers in just 3 2/3 IP in a 9-7 loss. But at least Kelly has an encouraging outing to date when he pitched 5 1/3 solid innings of his 2025 home debut vs. the Cubs on March 28, allowing just one run and three hits while picking up the 8-1 win.
