Justin Wrobleski makes his second MLB start after a mediocre debut, and I think go better this time around with any jitters behind him. He only had two Triple-A starts before promotion but proved he belonged with three good innings in his debut before giving up two homers. He only surrendered five homers in 15 minor-league starts, and the Tigers have just an 85 OPS+ against lefties, so if he's pitching at the same level today we should see a better outcome. Wrobleski's minor-league stats suggest he's a better pitcher than his debut and today's props are giving him credit for.
The Tigers are kicking themselves for blowing a 3-0 lead on Friday, but the visiting Dodgers still look like they simply need to get to the All-Star break without taking any more casualties. Dave Roberts and his depleted pitching staff have little choice but to send rookie Justin Wrobleski back to the mound despite him getting shelled in his debut last Sunday by the Brewers in a 9-2 loss. Meanwhile, AJ Hinch might have a better chance on the Detroit side with recently impressive Keider Montero, who's allowed just 2 runs and 9 hits across 12 2/3 IP in his last two starts.
