Tigers gave Flaherty some strong money consider how awful he was in '23 for STL and BAL. They're going to stick with the veteran here against a bad A's lineup at home in a huge ballpark where a lot of the fly balls he gives up will end up in gloves. He went 7 in his first outing and is on ample rest with the weather the Tigers faced and him going 6 innings today doesn't feel like a stretch at all to me. That gets us over easy.

I'm not totally buying that Jack Flaherty is back but he sure will look like it again today at home vs the lowly A's. Dude is under no pressure now after being a failure for the O's at the trade deadline and seems to have increased his stuff in the offseason. The kid going for Oakland was totally undone by his defense and a ton of loud contact last time out. Tigers will see him well. And the A's pen remains a major issue and I'm not sure how stretched out Boyle is. I like Detroit to put on a show at home
