I don't have the numbers right in front of me, but there was some crazy W/L thing by NFL teams after playing the 49ers -- it was horribly bad. While I'm guessing that's because they were physically worn out after playing such a physical team, I almost wonder if we need to fade teams right after beating the Dodgers this year as the Cards did last night. Just with all the hype. The Cards also blew out their bullpen Saturday. My Mookie Betts NL MVP ticket is feeling pretty good right now. Not that I exactly took a huge leap there. Betts doesn't have great splits off Cards starter Steven Matz but Freddie Freeman does.

The Cardinals won Saturday night and it took absolutely everything they had, along with a few breaks the Dodgers handed them during a rally that included catchers interference and a balk. This won't happen again. The Dodgers can torch Steven Matz and no hitter is hotter than Mookie Betts right now. The juice is worth it here.
